Derivado de la forma más antigua νίζω, este verbo denota específicamente lavar una parte del cuerpo, a diferencia de bañar a la persona entera. En los

Golpear, abofetear o batir palmas (manos o muslo); extendido a estrechar manos en alianza o chapotear en el agua.

Lavar o bañar el cuerpo entero, a diferencia de lavar solo las manos o los pies.
