tremble, quake (in fear or physical shaking)
A verb of trembling, whether from fear, awe, or physical shaking. Haman 'trembled' before Esther (Esth 5:9), the 'keepers of the house' (hands or arms) 'tremble' in old age (Eccl 12:3), and Habakkuk envisions creditors who will 'shake' Babylon violently (Hab 2:7). The Spanish tembló, que tiemblen and German/French cognates capture both the involuntary physical response and the violent shaking inflicted by others.
