1. failing the test, disqualified, worthless — An adjective (adokimos) meaning 'not standing the test, rejected after examination,' used in the NT for moral and spiritual failure. Paul fears becoming adokimos ('disqualified') after preaching to others (1 Cor 9:27, arb marfudan, spa descalificado). Paul warns the Corinthians to test themselves lest they be adokimoi (2 Cor 13:5-7, arb marfudin, spa reprobados). Titus 1:16 describes those who are adokimoi for every good work (eng 'worthless,' spa descalificados). Land producing thorns is adokimos ('worthless,' Heb 6:8, arb marfudatun, heb nimeset).
