To draw or pull out, especially from water or danger
This rare verb appears only three times, twice in parallel passages and once in the naming of Moses. Exodus 2:10 uses it to explain the name Moses (Moshe): 'Because I drew him out of the water.' The verb connects to the miraculous rescue of the infant from the Nile. The two Psalm/Samuel parallels use it for divine deliverance: 'He drew me out of many waters'—God pulling the psalmist from overwhelming danger. The imagery is of extraction, pulling someone from engulfing peril to safety.
