A fixed base, wheeled stand, or pedestal -- especially the bronze stands for Solomon's temple lavers
Refers to a sturdy base or pedestal designed to hold something in a fixed position. Nearly every occurrence describes the ten ornate wheeled bronze stands Solomon commissioned for the temple lavers (1 Kgs 7:27-43), each elaborately decorated with panels of lions, oxen, and cherubim. The word also designates the base of the altar rebuilt after the exile (Ezra 3:3) and the resting place of the symbolic ephah in Zechariah's vision (Zech 5:11). Spanish 'base' and German 'Stehe' both capture the core idea of a firm support structure. These stands were so prized that Ahaz later stripped them (2 Kgs 16:17) and the Babylonians carried them away as bronze spoil (2 Kgs 25:13, 16; Jer 52:17, 20).

Senses
1. stand, base, pedestal A fixed stand, base, or pedestal -- predominantly the ten wheeled bronze stands Solomon crafted for the temple lavers (1 Kgs 7:27-43), decorated with engraved panels. The root kun ('to be established') highlights permanence and stability. 24×
