V-ASA-2S  |  1× in 1 sense
to spend in addition, to pay extra expenses, to incur further costs beyond initial payment
Similar to G4321 but focused specifically on additional financial outlay. The Good Samaritan in Luke 10:35 tells the innkeeper that whatever additional expense is incurred caring for the wounded man, he will repay on his return. The verb captures costs beyond the initial two denarii—any extra spending required will be covered. It demonstrates the Samaritan's open-ended commitment: not just initial help but willingness to cover all additional expenses, however much they might be.

Senses
1. sense 1 The translations emphasize additional spending ('you spend in addition,' 'gastes más,' 'dépenser en plus,' 'fordert dazu'). Jesus' parable depends on this open-ended generosity—the Samaritan doesn't calculate costs carefully or limit his liability, but commits to covering whatever additional expenses arise. This extra-spending clause transforms charity from measured giving into genuine neighbor-love that doesn't count the cost.
