The fourth living creature around the throne is 'like a flying eagle' (Rev 4:7). An eagle flies through mid-heaven crying woes upon the earth (8:13). The woman is given eagle's wings to fly into the wilderness (12:14). An angel flies in mid-heaven proclaiming the eternal gospel (14:6), and another angel calls to birds flying in mid-heaven to gather for the great supper (19:17). The multilingual glosses — Spanish 'volando,' French 'fliegen,' German 'fliegen' — are uniformly straightforward.
