Adv  |  11× in 1 sense
With one mind, in united accord — an adverb describing collective harmony of purpose, especially in early church life
The adverb ὁμοθυμαδόν (homothumadon) describes a group acting or feeling 'with one mind' or 'in unanimous accord.' It is virtually a signature word of Acts, where Luke uses it to paint the early church's extraordinary unity: the disciples pray together with one accord (Acts 1:14), gather daily in the temple (Acts 2:46), lift their voices in unified prayer (Acts 4:24), and meet in Solomon's Portico (Acts 5:12). The word also captures hostile unanimity — a crowd rushing with one impulse against Stephen (Acts 7:57) or against Paul in Thessalonica. Its only Pauline occurrence is Romans 15:6, praying that believers may 'with one mind and one mouth glorify God.' Spanish 'unánimes' and French 'd'un commun accord' convey the depth of this shared purpose.

Senses
1. with one mind Positive communal unanimity, describing the early church's shared devotion, prayer, and worship. The believers persist with one accord in prayer (Acts 1:14), gather daily for breaking of bread (Acts 2:46), pray together after Peter and John's release (Acts 4:24), and meet as one in Solomon's Portico (Acts 5:12). Paul's prayer in Romans 15:6 extends this to glorifying God 'with one mind.' The word captures an inner harmony of purpose that produces outward visible unity. Spanish 'unánimes' and French 'd'un commun accord' both emphasize the depth of agreement. 11×
