V-PNA  |  8× in 1 sense
To share in, partake of; to have a portion or part in something held in common.
Metecho means to partake of or share in something, emphasizing the receiving side of participation. It appears in the New Testament primarily in Paul's letters and Hebrews, covering a striking range of shared realities: partaking of bread (1 Cor 10:17), sharing in food offered to idols at a table of demons (1 Cor 10:21), partaking of milk versus solid food in teaching (Heb 5:13), and — most profoundly — Christ sharing in flesh and blood so he could destroy the power of death (Heb 2:14). The Spanish 'participar' and German 'teilhaben' both capture the idea of taking a real portion in something larger than oneself.

Senses
1. to share in, partake of To have a share in or partake of something, emphasizing the reception of a portion from what is held in common. Used of partaking of food and drink — both literal bread (1 Cor 10:17) and the table of demons (1 Cor 10:21) — of sharing in priestly service (Heb 7:13), of receiving milk rather than solid food in teaching (Heb 5:13), and most strikingly, of Christ partaking of flesh and blood to defeat death (Heb 2:14). While related to koinoneo (G2841), metecho stresses the receiving of a portion rather than mutual sharing; Spanish 'participar' and German 'teilhaben' both reflect this nuance of taking one's part.
