ἐπιδείκ-νῡμι G1925
To show, display, or demonstrate something visually or evidentially; to exhibit or point out.
A verb meaning to show, display, or demonstrate — whether an object, a person, or evidence. In the Gospels, Jesus tells the Pharisees to show him the coin used for the tax (Matt 22:19), and the disciples point out the temple buildings to him (Matt 24:1). The healed leper is told to show himself to the priests (Luke 17:14). In Acts 9:39, the widows at Joppa show Peter the garments Dorcas had made. The word carries a note of exhibition or proof — not merely seeing but deliberately presenting something for inspection. Spanish 'mostrar,' French 'montrer,' and German 'zeigen' all confirm this demonstrative force, the act of making visible what needs to be seen or verified.
