V-ANM  |  11× in 1 sense
Show forth, demonstrate — to openly display or prove a quality, whether God's wrath and mercy or human faithfulness
The verb ἐνδείκνυμι (endeiknymi) means to show forth, demonstrate, or put on display for others to see. It serves as a key Pauline term for God's deliberate revelation of his attributes: God 'demonstrates' his wrath against sin (Rom 9:17, 22), 'shows' the exceeding riches of his grace toward believers (Eph 2:7), and 'displayed' his perfect patience in saving Paul as a pattern (1 Tim 1:16). Human subjects likewise 'show' their love, faithfulness, or good conduct before others (2 Cor 8:24; Tit 2:10; 3:2; Heb 6:10-11). Rom 2:15 uses it of Gentiles who 'show' the work of the law written on their hearts. Spanish 'demostrar/mostrar' and French 'montrer/démontrer' capture the evidential, public character of the display.

Senses
1. show, demonstrate, display To show forth, demonstrate, or put on public display — making a quality, attitude, or reality evident to others. Of God: demonstrating wrath against Pharaoh to make his power known (Rom 9:17, 22), showing the surpassing riches of grace in Christ (Eph 2:7), and displaying perfect patience through Paul's conversion (1 Tim 1:16). Of persons: showing the work of the law inscribed on the heart (Rom 2:15), demonstrating love and earnestness to the churches (2 Cor 8:24), displaying gentleness and faithfulness in conduct (Tit 2:10; 3:2; Heb 6:10-11). Negatively, Alexander 'showed' much harm (2 Tim 4:14). Spanish 'demostrar' and Arabic 'أَظْهَرَ' both convey the deliberate, evidential quality. 11×
