Paul makes it a cornerstone of his argument in Romans 9–11: election rests not on works but on the One who calls (Rom 9:11), a remnant exists 'according to the election of grace' (Rom 11:5), and Israel remains beloved 'as regards election' (Rom 11:28). In Acts 9:15 Paul himself is called a 'vessel of election,' and 2 Peter 1:10 urges believers to confirm their calling and election.
