Eita is a sequencing adverb that marks the next step in a narrative or argument. It functions much like 'then' or 'next' in English, placing events or ideas in ordered succession without necessarily implying causation. Mark uses it to describe the stages of grain growth — first the blade, then (eita) the ear, then the full grain (Mark 4:28). Paul employs it prominently in 1 Corinthians 15:5–7 to sequence the resurrection appearances and in 15:24 for the eschatological order. It can also introduce the next point in an argument (1 Tim 2:13; Heb 12:9). Translations across languages render it with simple sequencing particles — Spanish 'luego,' French 'ensuite,' German 'dann.'
