V-PPM/P-NNS  |  2× in 1 sense
to unveil, to uncover, to reveal by removing a covering
This verb means to unveil or uncover, literally or metaphorically. Second Corinthians 3:14 states that the veil over the old covenant reading is not lifted, because only in Christ is it taken away (ἀνακαλυπτόμενον—being unveiled). Verse 18 declares that we all, with ἀνακεκαλυμμένῳ προσώπῳ—unveiled face—behold the Lord's glory as in a mirror and are transformed. Paul contrasts veiled hearts that cannot understand Moses with unveiled faces that behold Christ's glory. The removal of the covering enables true seeing and consequent transformation.

Senses
1. sense 1 The unveiling theme appears: Spanish 'con descubierto' (with uncovered) and 'siendo descubierto,' French 'dévoiler,' German 'aufdecken' (uncover). Both verses occur in Paul's sustained metaphor of veils and unveiling. The literal act of removing a covering becomes a powerful image for spiritual illumination—only when the veil is lifted in Christ can people truly see God's glory and be transformed by it.
