V-Hitpael-Imperf-3ms  |  13× in 4 senses
To beautify, glorify, or adorn (Piel); to glorify oneself or boast (Hitpael)
A richly theological verb spanning the spectrum from physical beautification to divine self-glorification. In the Piel stem, God beautifies His temple (Isa 60:13) and adorns the humble with salvation (Ps 149:4). In the Hitpael, the reflexive meaning splits two ways: positively, God glorifies Himself in Israel (Isa 44:23; 49:3), and negatively, humans boast or vaunt themselves (Judg 7:2; Isa 10:15). French captures both poles with 'glorifier' and 'se vanter,' while Spanish distinguishes 'hermosear' (to beautify) from 'gloriarse' (to glory in).

Senses
1. glorify oneself, be glorified (Hitpael) The Hitpael reflexive sense of gaining or displaying glory, used especially of God manifesting His splendor through His people. Isaiah 44:23 declares that the LORD has glorified Himself in Israel, and 49:3 identifies the Servant as the one in whom God will be glorified. Isaiah 60:21 and 61:3 extend this to the restored people as God's 'planting' for His self-glorification. Spanish 'glorificarme/glorificarse' preserves the reflexive grammar.

2. glorify, honor (Piel) The Piel transitive sense of bestowing honor or glory upon another. In Isaiah 55:5 and 60:9, God has glorified Israel so that nations stream toward her. The emphasis falls on dignifying or exalting the recipient. Spanish 'te glorificó' and English 'he has glorified you' show the outward-directed bestowal of honor.

3. beautify, adorn (Piel) The Piel sense of physical beautification or adornment. Isaiah 60:13 speaks of beautifying the sanctuary with choice timber, Ezra 7:27 of adorning the temple, and Psalm 149:4 of God adorning the humble with victory. Spanish 'hermosear' (to make beautiful) distinguishes this concrete aesthetic sense from abstract glorification. French 'glorifier' unfortunately collapses both Piel senses.

4. boast, vaunt oneself (Hitpael) The Hitpael in a negative register: boasting, vaunting oneself, or glorying with pride. In Judges 7:2, God reduces Gideon's army lest Israel boast against Him. Isaiah 10:15 asks whether the axe shall glorify itself against the one who wields it. Exodus 8:9 uses it more neutrally — Moses defers to Pharaoh to 'have the honor' of choosing when the frogs depart. Spanish 'gloriará/Gloríate' and French 'se vanter' capture the self-aggrandizing dimension.
