Prep-l  |  1× in 1 sense
One who is fainting or despairing, literally melting or collapsing from loss of hope or strength
This term captures a state of complete exhaustion or despair, where strength and hope have drained away. In Job 6:14, it describes one who has reached the point of failing or collapsing under pressure. The image is of melting or dissolution—when inner resources have been depleted. Job uses this to describe the friend's obligation to show kindness precisely when someone reaches this critical point of desperation.

Senses
1. sense 1 One experiencing despair or complete loss of strength, described through the metaphor of melting or collapsing. Job 6:14 uses this to identify the person most in need of kindness—the one whose inner resources have failed. The Spanish 'desfallece' (faints/weakens) captures the sense of physical and emotional collapse inherent in this term.
