Genesis 14:20 celebrates God who delivered Abraham's enemies into his hand. Proverbs 4:9 uses it positively—wisdom will bestow a crown of honor. Hosea 11:8 contains God's anguished cry asking how He can deliver up Israel to destruction. The verb captures the decisive act of transferring someone or something from one party to another.
