Honrar, mostrar respeto, adornar; también del terreno escabroso o elevado; en reflexivo, glorificarse a sí mismo.
Enraizado en la idea de hinchazón o plenitud, este verbo abarca tanto el honrar a personas como la descripción de un terreno imponente. La Torá ordena 'honrarás (וְהָדַרְתָּ) el rostro del anciano' (Lv 19:32), mientras que la misma raíz advierte contra el favoritismo en el tribunal (Éx 23:3; Lv 19:15). Isaías emplea el participio pasivo para describir a Dios como 'majestuoso' con vestiduras carmesíes (Is 63:1) y, llamativamente, un terreno escabroso que será allanado ante Ciro (Is 45:2). El Hitpael en Pr 25:6 advierte contra glorificarse ante el rey, subrayando la autoexaltación reflexiva.
