You (2ms); Aramaic second-person masculine singular pronoun, equivalent to Hebrew attah
Antah (אַנְתָּה) is the Biblical Aramaic second-person masculine singular pronoun, the direct counterpart of Hebrew attah ('you'). It appears exclusively in the Aramaic portions of Daniel and Ezra, where it addresses kings and rulers — notably Nebuchadnezzar in the interpretation of his dream (Dan 2:29, 31, 37–38) and Artaxerxes in the decree of Ezra 7:25. The ketiv form אנתה reflects an older Aramaic spelling, while the qere reads the shorter אַנְתְּ. Despite being a simple pronoun, its concentration in royal-address contexts gives it a distinctive rhetorical force.

Senses
1. (qere:) The Biblical Aramaic second-person masculine singular pronoun 'you,' used in direct address in Daniel and Ezra. The ketiv spelling אנתה preserves an older form while the qere reads the shorter אנת. It appears in Daniel's address to Nebuchadnezzar — 'You, O king' (Dan 2:37) — and in Artaxerxes' decree (Ezra 7:25). Spanish 'tú,' French 'toi,' and German 'du' all render it with the expected familiar singular pronoun. 25×
