In Mark 6:39 Jesus seats the crowd on the green grass, evoking the lush Galilean spring. In Revelation 9:4 the locusts are forbidden to harm any green thing. But in Revelation 6:8 the fourth horseman rides a chlōros horse -- the pale, deathly greenish hue of a corpse.
