V-RPM/P-VMP  |  5× in 1 sense
To fill up, satisfy, or supply abundantly; to satiate with food or provision.
Describes filling to capacity or satisfying thoroughly, often with food but also with spiritual and material provision. In Mary's Magnificat, God has 'filled the hungry with good things' while sending the rich away empty (Luke 1:53). Jesus warns that those who are full now will hunger (Luke 6:25), and after the feeding miracle the fragments fill twelve baskets because all 'were satisfied' (John 6:12). Paul speaks of God filling hearts with food and gladness (Acts 14:17) and expresses his own hope to be 'filled' with the Romans' company (Rom 15:24). French 'remplir' and Spanish 'saciar' highlight both fullness and satisfaction.

Senses
1. sense 1 To fill completely or satisfy abundantly—typically with food, provision, or enjoyment. Luke 1:53 celebrates God filling the hungry; Luke 6:25 warns the satisfied that hunger will come. John 6:12 uses the perfect participle for the crowd fully satisfied after the miraculous feeding. Acts 14:17 broadens the sense to God's providential filling of hearts with food and gladness, while Rom 15:24 applies it to Paul's desire to be 'filled' with the fellowship of the Roman church. Multilingual evidence—Spanish 'saciados,' French 'remplir,' German 'füllen'—consistently points to thorough, generous provision.
