Tema — territorio árabe y su pueblo, descendiente de Ismael
Tema designa un asentamiento oasis en el noroeste de Arabia, identificado con la moderna Teyma, y la tribu descendiente del hijo de Ismael del mismo nombre (Gn 25:15). Isaías 21:14 exhorta a los habitantes de Tema a llevar agua al sediento, reflejando su papel como parada de caravanas. Jeremías 25:23 agrupa a Tema con Dedán y Buz entre los pueblos árabes bajo juicio divino. Job 6:19 invoca las caravanas de Tema como metáfora de esperanza frustrada, pues los viajeros del desierto dependen de wadis estacionales que pueden secarse.
