1. give rest, be at rest — To be at rest or to cause to rest; in Hifil causative 'give rest to' and intransitive 'find rest,' and in Niphal 'be still, be at rest.' Used of physical repose and cessation of turmoil. Cognate Arabic raja'a 'return (to rest).' Cf.
