This Aramaic noun appears exclusively in Daniel, carrying two sharply distinct meanings. In Nebuchadnezzar's orchestra (Dan 3:5, 7, 10, 15), it denotes a musical horn blown alongside other instruments at the signal to worship. In Daniel's night visions (Dan 7:7-24), horns sprout from beasts and represent kings and kingdoms — symbols of political power.
