bag, purse

Senses
1. bag, purse A bag or purse used for carrying money or weights. In Proverbs 1:14 (we will all have one purse, kis), of dishonest weights in Micah 6:11 (and with a bag of deceitful weights), and of money bags in Proverbs 16:11 (all the weights in the bag), Deuteronomy 25:13 (you shall not have in your bag differing weights), and Isaiah 46:6 (those who lavish gold from the bag). Also in Proverbs 23:31 with a Ketiv/Qere variant where the Ketiv reads bakkis 'in the cup' but may reflect a textual confusion with kos. All inflectional variants -- with prepositions (in your bag, from the bag), possessive suffixes, and construct chains -- refer to the same concrete object: a container for money or weights.
