Disparar (flechas); en pasivo (Hofal), ser regado o saturado — variante ortográfica aramea de yarah
Variante con ortografía aramea del verbo común yarah, esta forma posee dos significados distintos según la conjugación. En el Hifil activo describe el acto de disparar flechas, como cuando los soldados de Joab dispararon contra Urías desde la muralla de Rabá (2 S 11:24) y en la forma participial 'los flecheros' que hirieron a Saúl (1 S 31:3). La única aparición en Hofal, en Proverbios 11:25, cambia completamente el sentido: 'el que riega será también regado', un hermoso proverbio recíproco donde la generosidad retorna al dador.

2. Ser regado, saturado — Pasivo Hofal que significa ser regado o saturado, presente únicamente en Proverbios 11:25: 'el alma generosa será prosperada, y el que riega será también regado (yoreh).' Este sentido pasivo de empapar o regar está semánticamente distante del sentido de disparar. La imagen agrícola transmite la bendición recíproca de la generosidad. 1×
