Στολή designa una vestidura exterior larga y suelta que denota estatus o solemnidad. En el griego clásico abarcaba desde equipamiento militar hasta indumentaria cotidiana, pero en el Nuevo Testamento señala consistentemente un ropaje de honor o distinción. Los escribas anhelan pasear con vestiduras largas como marca de prestigio (Mr 12:38; Lc 20:46), el hijo pródigo es revestido con «la mejor vestidura» al ser restaurado (Lc 15:22), el ángel en el sepulcro vacío lleva una vestidura blanca (Mr 16:5), y los mártires bajo el altar reciben vestiduras blancas (Ap 6:11).

A diferencia del simple ἱμάτιον (manto) o χιτών (túnica), la στολή es un ropaje ceremonial asociado con la dignidad.
