Ver de antemano, prever; percibir anticipadamente o mantener algo constantemente a la vista.
Combina el prefijo προ- (antes, delante) con ὁράω (ver), produciendo un verbo que puede significar tanto prever acontecimientos futuros como mantener algo constantemente ante los ojos. Pedro en Pentecostés cita a David: «Veía al Señor siempre delante de mí» (Hch 2:25, del Sal 16:8), donde el sentido es mantener la mirada fija en Dios. En Hechos 2:31, David previó la resurrección. En Gálatas 3:8, la Escritura misma «previó» que Dios justificaría a los gentiles. El vocablo tiende un puente entre la previsión profética y la visión atenta y sostenida.
