Vestidura, indumentaria; prenda exterior que connota distinción o formalidad.
Derivado de ἕννυμι ('vestir'), ἐσθής designa ropa o vestidura con un matiz de dignidad o solemnidad. Herodes viste a Jesús con 'ropas espléndidas' (ἐσθῆτα λαμπράν, Lc 23:11), y los ángeles en el sepulcro y la ascensión aparecen con vestiduras blancas resplandecientes (Lc 24:4; Hch 1:10). Cornelio ve una figura con 'ropa brillante' (Hch 10:30), y Herodes Agripa se reviste de vestiduras reales antes de su fatal audiencia (Hch 12:21). El español «vestidura» preserva el registro formal, distinguiéndola de términos más cotidianos como ἱμάτιον.
