Congregar, reunir; juntar personas dispersas en un solo grupo (en voz activa y pasiva).
Verbo compuesto (ἐπι + συν + ἄγω) que transmite la acción deliberada de reunir a individuos dispersos en un grupo unificado. Jesús mismo lo usa en la conmovedora imagen de la gallina que recoge a sus polluelos bajo las alas (Mt 23:37; Lc 13:34), y describe la congregación escatológica cuando el Hijo del Hombre envíe a sus ángeles a reunir a los elegidos de los cuatro vientos (Mt 24:31; Mr 13:27). En voz pasiva, retrata a multitudes apiñándose alrededor de Jesús (Mr 1:33) y a naciones congregadas ante el trono del juicio (Mt 25:32). El español «reunir» capta bien ese impulso de volver a juntar lo disperso.
