dine, eat breakfast or a meal
This verb refers to eating a meal, particularly breakfast or the midday meal. Jesus accepts a Pharisee's invitation to 'dine' with him (Luke 11:37). After the resurrection, Jesus invites the disciples to 'have breakfast' by the Sea of Tiberias, then asks Peter about his love three times (John 21:12, 15). The word originally denoted the morning meal (ἄριστον) but later came to mean the midday meal. In NT contexts, it marks moments of fellowship and significant conversation, particularly post-resurrection encounters.

The French 'déjeuner' and German 'fruehstuecken' (breakfast) show the meal context where relationship and teaching converge.
