This adjective describes objects made of silver or the metal itself. Demetrius the silversmith made 'silver' shrines of Artemis in Ephesus (Acts 19:24). Paul describes a great house containing vessels of gold and 'silver' (2 Tim 2:20). Revelation lists idols of gold, 'silver,' and other materials that people refused to renounce (9:20). In each case, silver represents material wealth, craftsmanship, or—in the idol context—misplaced worship. The metal's value made it significant for both commerce and religious artifacts.
