Describes a state of disorder, instability, or confusion — ranging from political upheaval to communal chaos. Jesus warns that 'wars and disturbances' will precede the end (Luke 21:9). Paul endured 'tumults' among his many hardships (2 Cor 6:5) and feared finding 'disorder' at Corinth (2 Cor 12:20). Most theologically pointed is 1 Corinthians 14:33: 'God is not a God of disorder but of peace,' establishing divine order as the antithesis of akatastasia.
