The passage is therefore doubtful. Hithpo. Impf. יִתְבּוֹלָ֑ל Ho 7:8; אפרים בעמים הוא י׳ Ephraim, among the peoples doth he mix himself; but Ew Now derive here from בלל = בלה (or נבל) waste away, cf. Hiph. Hiph. Impf. וַנָּ֫בֶל Is 64:5 and we faded away, but read perhaps וַנִּבֹּל from נבל cf. Di (De, less probably, derives from בלל—cf. Ew Now Ho 7:8—or בול = נבל).
