Obrar con falsedad, mentir; actuar con engaño o quebrantar la fe, usado para traición pactual y fidelidad divina
Derivado de שֶׁקֶר ('falsedad'), este verbo abarca todo el espectro del obrar engañoso, desde quebrantar juramentos solemnes hasta proferir mentiras abiertas. En Génesis 21:23 Abraham pide a Abimelec que jure no obrar con falsedad, mientras que en 1 Samuel 15:29 Samuel declara que la Gloria de Israel no mentirá, empleando la misma raíz para afirmar la constancia divina. El Piel intensifica la acción como engaño deliberado y sostenido. El Salmo 44:17 protesta conmovedoramente que Israel no ha sido infiel al pacto de Dios a pesar del sufrimiento.
