To set, place, or position deliberately; also to make level or even (Piel of שָׁוָה II)
A Piel verb meaning to set or place something with deliberate intention, and by extension to make level or sure-footed. In Psalm 16:8 the psalmist declares 'I have set YHWH always before me,' while in Psalm 89:19 God places strength upon a chosen warrior.
