Rimmon — a place name for towns in Simeon, Zebulun, and Benjamin, often associated with rocky or elevated terrain
Rimmon (meaning 'pomegranate') identifies several towns across Israel's tribal territories. In the south, it appears as a city in the allotment of Simeon (Josh 15:32; 19:7), sometimes paired with En-rimmon. In the north, a Rimmon in Zebulun served as a Levitical city (Josh 19:13; 1 Chr 6:62). Perhaps most dramatically, the Rock of Rimmon in Benjamin provided refuge for six hundred surviving Benjaminite warriors after the devastating civil war recounted in Judges 20-21. Zechariah 14:10 also references the southern Rimmon as a geographic landmark.
