Ruth — Moabite woman who clung to her mother-in-law Naomi and became an ancestress of King David
Ruth (רוּת) is the Moabite woman whose story is told in the book bearing her name. After her husband's death, she refused to leave her mother-in-law Naomi, declaring 'Where you go I will go; your people shall be my people, and your God my God' (Ruth 1:16).
