Names the deep valley running between Jerusalem's eastern wall and the Mount of Olives, through which a seasonal brook flows. David crossed the Kidron weeping as he fled Absalom (2 Sam 15:23), and Solomon warned Shimei that crossing it meant death (1 Kgs 2:37). Reforming kings repeatedly burned idols and cult objects there (1 Kgs 15:13; 2 Kgs 23:4), making the Kidron a recurring boundary between the holy city and its rejected impurities.
