Término técnico para la carne sacrificial que se ha vuelto ritualmente inmunda y abominable, quedando no apta para el consumo ni la ofrenda. Levítico establece que si alguien come carne sacrificial al tercer día, esta se convierte en cosa inmunda y la ofrenda queda invalidada (7:18, 19:7). Isaías lo emplea para el caldo de cosas abominables consumido en rituales paganos (65:4). El horror de Ezequiel ante comer carne inmunda (4:14) expresa su preocupación por la contaminación ritual. El término denota no simplemente impureza, sino algo abominable: religiosamente repugnante y profanador.
