Verbo denominativo construido sobre la raíz de 'diez', empleado en dos direcciones contrastantes. En la conjugación Piel describe el acto voluntario y pactal de dar una décima parte a Dios, como cuando Jacob prometió en Betel: 'el diezmo apartaré para ti' (Gn 28:22), y en las leyes deuteronómicas del diezmo (Dt 14:22; 26:12).
