Adadah (place name, possibly textual corruption for Aroer)
A place name in southern Judah's town list, though some scholars propose reading 'Aroer' instead based on other geographical references. If original, Adadah is otherwise unknown. The site appears in Joshua's allocation to Judah among the southernmost settlements toward the Edomite border. The name's similarity to other variants has led to ongoing debate about the correct reading.

Senses
1. sense 1 Adadah listed among the towns of southern Judah in Joshua 15:22, though textual critics suggest emending to 'Aroer' (or 'Ararah') based on the Septuagint and parallel town lists. BDB notes that the form may be a corruption of the better-known Aroer in southern Judah mentioned in 1 Samuel 30:28. The uncertainty reflects the challenges of reconstructing ancient toponymy from variant manuscript traditions.
