Cushan-rishathaim, king of Aram-naharaim who oppressed Israel for eight years
Cushan-rishathaim appears as the first foreign oppressor in the book of Judges, a king of Aram-naharaim (Mesopotamia) to whom God delivered Israel because of their idolatry. His unusual name, which might mean 'Cushan of double wickedness,' puzzles scholars since no extra-biblical records confirm his existence.
