2. ram's horn, trumpet — A musical instrument made from a ram's horn, blown as a signal or in ritual contexts. Used in the conquest of Jericho (Josh 6:4-13) where priests carry rams' horns before the ark, and at Sinai (Exod 19:13) signaling the people to approach the mountain.
