Verbo que aparece unicamente en Job y Lamentaciones, abarcando desde el brillo fisico hasta la pureza moral. En Lam 4:7 describe como los nobles de Jerusalen eran antes 'mas resplandecientes que la nieve', imagen impactante de salud y esplendor. En los argumentos teologicos de Job, cuestiona si incluso los cielos son 'puros' ante los ojos de Dios (Job 15:15; 25:5), cuanto menos los mortales. El Hifil en Job 9:30 expresa la futilidad de la autopurificacion: 'aunque lave mis manos con lejia'. La raiz une luminosidad y limpieza moral en un mismo campo semantico.
