Temer, estar aterrorizado; en voz pasiva, terrorífico o espantoso (verbo arameo usado en Daniel).
Verbo arameo que aparece exclusivamente en Daniel y abarca todo el espectro del pavor en la corte de Nabucodonosor. Su participio pasivo describe a la cuarta bestia terrorífica (Dan 7:7, 19) y la imponente estatua de Daniel 2:31, mientras que su participio activo expresa el temblor de las naciones ante un rey o ante Dios (Dan 5:19; 6:26). En la conjugación Pael, un sueño «atemoriza» al propio rey (Dan 4:5). Así, el verbo opera en dos direcciones: el terror infligido y el terror experimentado.

2. Temiendo, temblando — Temiendo, temblando (participio activo con min-qodam): la experiencia de pavor ante una figura poderosa. En Dan 5:19 todos los pueblos temían ante Nabucodonosor; en Dan 6:26 Darío decreta que se tiemble ante el Dios de Daniel. 3. Atemorizar, causar espanto — Atemorizar, causar espanto (Pael causativo): el sueño aterroriza activamente al rey. Dan 4:5 emplea el imperfecto Pael con sufijo pronominal: «me atemorizó».
