Daberath—a Levitical city in Issachar at the foot of Mount Tabor
Daberath (also spelled Dabrath or Dovrat) was a Levitical city assigned to the tribe of Issachar, located at the base of Mount Tabor. It appears in Joshua's boundary descriptions (Josh 19:12, with the definite article) and in the lists of Levitical cities (Josh 21:28, 1 Chr 6:72). Modern scholars identify it with Deburije, a village still at Tabor's foot. The name's etymology is uncertain. As a Levitical city, it housed priests and served as a center of worship and teaching within Issachar's territory.
