1. four (cardinal number) — The cardinal number four (אַרְבַּע), used for counting objects, people, and in compound numerals throughout the Hebrew Bible. Multilingual evidence uniformly renders this as a simple numeral: eng 'four', spa 'cuatro', hin 'चार', arb 'أَرْبَعَةٌ/أَرْبَع', kor '넷', swa 'wanne'. The two clusters differ only in grammatical gender (masculine vs. feminine forms) and conjunctive framing, not in cardinal-number semantics. The Spanish 'cuatrocientos' (400) in one occurrence reflects a compound numeral construction, not a separate sense of the base word. 8×
