Otro, otra, diferente; ocasionalmente 'siguiente' o 'próximo' en contextos temporales o secuenciales.
Adjetivo versátil que significa 'otro' u 'otra', abarcando tanto referentes adicionales como distintos. Aparece a lo largo de toda la Biblia hebrea, desde 'otra descendencia' en Gn 4:25 hasta 'otros dioses' en las advertencias del Deuteronomio. Un grupo menor de ocurrencias porta un matiz temporal: 'el año siguiente' o 'la generación venidera', donde el sentido pasa de la mera diferencia al ordenamiento secuencial, como en Gn 17:21 y Jl 1:3.

2. siguiente, próximo — Siguiente o próximo en orden temporal o secuencial: un uso más restringido donde אַחֵר indica no solo diferencia sino sucesión. En Gn 17:21 Dios promete a Isaac 'por este tiempo el año siguiente'; Jl 1:3 ordena transmitir el relato a 'la generación venidera'. Sal 109:8 y 109:13 lo emplean para la sucesión en un cargo.
