Este verbo arameo (cognado del hebreo halak) significa 'ir' o 'viajar' y aparece exclusivamente en las secciones arameas de Esdras y Daniel. Cubre tanto viajes consumados ('fue', 'fuimos', 'fueron') como mandatos ('¡ve!'). Las formas españolas 'fue/fuimos/fueron' reflejan bien el aspecto perfectivo presente en la mayoría de sus apariciones. Aunque solo sobreviven siete atestiguaciones en el texto bíblico, el verbo era común en el arameo imperial y en el uso rabínico posterior.
